The Skin sofa by La Maison Convertible was born from a simple observation, the sofa beds currently offered on the market suffer from a major identity deficit. The external shape, which is too constrained by the internal mechanics, is often limited to a flat cover, certainly padded but without curves or particular uses.

In order to give a more remarkable shape and rework the overall ergonomics, we decided to incorporate armrests into the cover. This adjustment, as simple as it is on paper, represents a real technical challenge, a major innovation both in terms of design and in the use of the finished product.

As a result, the effect of a skin or a haute couture dress is all the more accentuated. The patterns of the quilting are superimposed on the shapes of the armrests to give a new graphic dimension to the product. Finally, the generous groping loops that run around the periphery of the sofa have two objectives: to emphasize the angles and curves of the exterior lines as well as to give a structuring framework to the cover. All of these juxtaposed elements, both formal and technical, make the Skin an ultra-sophisticated, innovative and contemporary product, thus redefining an entire type of product in the convertible market.
